Black Cumin Seed Oil
INCI: Nigella Sativa Seed Oil
What is it?
Black cumin seed oil is cold-pressed from the seeds of Nigella sativa. It's mostly linoleic acid, around 60%, plus oleic acid and its signature compound, thymoquinone. It's typically used in formulations for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties.
How is it used?
Use in the oil phase of a formula, ideally at a low enough percentage that its scent doesn't overwhelm the final product.
