Calendula

INCI: Calendula Officinalis (format is also noted if it is an extract, distillate, etc.)

What is it?

Calendula is derived from the flowers of Calendula officinalis, containing flavonoids, sesquiterpenes, triterpenes, and carotenoids. It's typically used in formulations as a soothing, skin-healing active, often infused directly into oil for handmade skincare.

How is it used?

Infuse dried flowers into a carrier oil (cold, over several weeks, or gently heat-accelerated), strain, then use the infused oil in place of plain oil in a formula.
