Fractionated coconut oil

INCI: Cocos Nucifera Oil

What is it?

Fractionated coconut oil is made by processing regular coconut oil to remove its long-chain fatty acids, leaving mostly caprylic and capric acid behind. This process is called fractionation. It's typically used in formulations as a lightweight, fast-absorbing carrier oil that never solidifies.

How is it used?

Use in the oil phase of a formula like any other liquid oil. No heat processing is needed since it never solidifies.
