Medium chain triglycerides

INCI: Caprylic/capric triglycerides

What is it?

Medium chain triglycerides (MCT oil) are made by fractionating coconut or palm oil to isolate its medium-chain fatty acids (6-12 carbon atoms), then combining them with glycerol. It's typically used in formulations as a lightweight, highly stable carrier oil.

How is it used?

Add to the oil phase of a formula, or use as a neutral carrier for essential oils and other actives.
