Polysorbate 60

INCI: POLYSORBATE 60

What is it?

Polysorbate 60 is made by reacting sorbitol and ethylene oxide with stearic acid to form a nonionic surfactant. It's typically used in formulations as a high-HLB co-emulsifier for oil-in-water creams and lotions.

How is it used?

Add to the oil phase of a formula alongside its low-HLB emulsifier partner, and heat both phases before combining.
